Isle of Ulva Beach Clean - 5 Tons Removed

In April 2022 - 26 volunteers organised by Caledonian Horticulture spent 4 days on the Island of Ulva near Mull on the West Coast of Scotland.

The little island has a population of 7 and its proximity to the Atlantic means a vast amount of lost rope nets and fishing gear washes up on its beaches.

In total we removed approx 5 tons of material from the beachs, camping or living in a bothy with no electricity.

The material was removed by a flotilla of small boats

Ocean Plastic Pots sorted the rope and net elements of this collection and recycled it.

All the mix of colours collected during recycling merged to create a matt grey carbon finish of our Bloom Ocean Plastic Pot

.....Of everything we have archived since starting Ocean Plastic Pots this is what i'm most proud of.
